O The Game Awards, cerimônia anual que premia os melhores jogos eletrônicos do ano, acontece nesta quinta-feira (8), a partir das 21h00 (horário de Brasília). Apresentado pelo jornalista e produtor Geoff Keighley, o evento está indo para sua nona edição e já possui uma grande relevância para o universo de videogames.
Entre os destaques da premiação, está o jogo do estúdio Santa Monica, God of War: Ragnarok, com dez indicações. Em seguida, os games Elden Ring e Horizon Forbidden West aparecem com sete indicações.
Para este ano, os destaques brasileiros foram a organização LOUD, que concorre na categoria Melhor Time de eSports, o técnico Matheus "bzkA" Tarasconi, que concorre como Melhor Treinador de eSports, e o streamer Nobru, que disputa o prêmio da categoria Criador de Conteúdo do Ano.
Além da entrega de prêmios, o evento é notório por ser palco para grandes anúncios do mercado para o ano seguinte. Para esta edição, é esperado que sejam divulgadas as datas de Street Fighter 6 e Final Fantasy XVI, além da confirmação da DLC de Elden Ring e o trailer de The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.
